Behind the Bar: Declan McGurk

Declan began his career running bars in Leeds for the Arc Inspiration group before joining Speciality Brands as one of their first Account Managers. He then pursued his dream of managing the world-famous American Bar, and once this was realised and awards were won, he became the Director of Bars at The Savoy.

Rather than rest on his laurels, even with the pandemic's closure of the hospitality sector and the uncertainty that lay ahead, Declan widened his horizons and joined the team at the Boatyard Distillery.

He talks to us about his journey, the future of the industry and shares his advice for anyone looking for new opportunities.
