Overall objective of Role

To lead Ideation, development, and implementation of a best-in-class category training programme for our customers to support their development and sales across all spirits categories and to help position Speciality Drinks as the leading RTM partner for the UK’s on-trade.

Social Media
To deliver social media strategy and overall lead and manage day-to-day social media initiatives and content calendar across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Newsletters

Due to business requirements, it is expected that the role holder will need to have a high degree of flexibility to meet the demands of the role. Therefore, it may be necessary to work out of normal working hours due to the nature of the projects, and to meet the necessary demands of our client base. The role holder must be able to adjust to a broad and fluid set of tasks as requirements change in this progressive company.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Advocacy programme (60%):
- Lead the development and successful launch of Speciality Sessions – our best-in-class advocacy programme, from ideation to implementation (including development of assets, planning of events, online promotion and sign-up and follow-up process)
- Deliver 12 category trainings for our customers (1 x per month over 12 months) through Speciality Sessions platform
- Provide tailored trainings for our customers when required, covering a range of drink-focused areas including, but not limited to general spirits, category, selling the back bar, cocktail, and upselling training
- supporting on-trade and retail customers with product recommendations, cocktail & menu creation, and general beverage management support

Driving the Speciality Drinks Social Media Programme (35%)
• Help build and implement social media strategy and key initiatives alongside Head of Marketing
• Grow key industry following to agreed quantitative and qualitative targets and increasing engagement with new and existing audience.
• Working with TWE Digital Team and Creative Services Team to deliver interesting and innovative content for social media platforms using a range of different mediums: photography; video; reels; stories; live trainings/ tastings
• Be a true digital brand ambassador of Speciality Drinks
• Strong product focus that can be measured through generation of leads and sales
• Delivery of monthly content calendar & reporting
• Social media day-to-day community management
• To write and deliver monthly newsletters that inspire and educate our audience

Other (5%)
- represent Speciality Drinks in customer venues and at industry events
- working closely with and supporting the sales team in the on-trade
- support the delivery of key events and initiatives for SDL and wider business (e.g. Raising the Back Bar)
- support Head of Marketing on key projects
- develop new tools and assets to evolve and improve our training programmes
- deliver training for sales team where required to improve overall category knowledge.

Working with key people in the business
• Commercial Director - Regular updates on team’s performance and working collaboratively on ideas to drive areas forward
• Head of Creative Services – Responsible for creative team from briefing to delivery
• Senior Marketing Manager TWE – Responsible for digital team
• Sales Team – Customer relationships

Qualifications and Experience
• experience in a brand ambassador or advocacy role for a brand or venue
• worked in/ with UK on-trade for at least 2 years
• strong spirits and Champagne knowledge, WSET advanced or Level 2 Spirits certificate desirable
• IT Literate - Excel, Word, Power Point
• Design platform experience (e.g. Canva) is desirable, but not essential
• excellent presentation skills- written and verbal
• experience of selling luxury and/or specialist products
• ability to write in an intelligent and engaging manner about spirits, trends desirable.
• Knows and understands the role of social media and has a genuine passion for engaging our audience digitally
• Must feel comfortable running multiple platforms and be a proactive community manager
